I have lived in Edinburgh for 12 years and love to explore the city, alone or with my dog, Freddie, AKA a small ridiculous dog. Keep reading for local ideas, places to visit, musings on various things and embarrassing tales of the clumsy misdeeds that take place whenever I’m allowed out in public.

The Highlands is a special place for me and I also spend a lot of time in the Lake District down in England, so expect plenty of walking/swimming/wet dog/mountain content too.

I happened to acquire an enormous figure of a flamingo a few years ago after a festival, and ever since, people have been giving me flamingo-based gifts. So far I’ve had drinks glasses, key rings, Christmas decorations, coasters, napkins and an egg cup. Always on the lookout for more…
